Apple's Leopard roars

The new version of Apple's Mac operating system, named Leopard, has got good reviews from quality-conscious geeks.

Apple claimed that the OS, released last week, has 300 new features. Most are meant only for hardcore programmers but there are enough to keep ordinary users happy.

The feature that earned kudos from most geeks is Time Machine, which automatically backs up files after they've been altered.

In addition, there are two remoteaccess features which helps you to control your computer and access files form any other machine running Leopard.

The new OS also has a virtual desktop feature called Spaces which helps you to switch among desktops.

And Spotlight, the fast search feature, is meant for those disorganised types who don't know where they have put their files.
