OLCP Laptop set to roll out

The mass production of the low-cost XO laptop brought out by the One Laptop per Child project has begun in Changshu of China.

Tech guru Nicholos Negroponte has designed the robust green and white laptop for school kids of the third world countries. They are priced at $188 per piece.

The laptops, which can be powered with a foot pedal or crank and runs on open source software, are being manufactured by Computer maker Quanta. According to One Laptop per Child project, the first batch of laptops will reach children by the end of this month. Uruguay was the first country in the world to order 100,000 XO machines for its children.
