Microsoft updates spoil IE

A security update issued by Microsoft last week has crippled Internet Explorer in many computers.

MS acknowledged the problem and is now investigating it.

The security update was issued on December 11 and soon after that MS started getting mails from users that they were unable to connect to the Internet.

Either IE refused to open at all or when it opened, it was unable to access sites.

Most users were irked to no end after seeing perennial pop ups saying that IE had encountered a problem and must close. Both IE6 and IE7 were unable to load home pages on both Windows XP and Windows Vista computers.

MS security response team has promised to give detailed guidance on how to solve the problem.
